Description

The senior Data Product Manager will be part of our Digital Insights product organization within Moody's Analytics, reporting to the Data Product Strategy lead in the Foundational Applications team. Our team has a singular focus on building foundational capabilities that, delivered through our Client Applications team, meet our user needs of today while scaling for their needs in the future. This Data Product Manager is responsible for onboarding and redistributing new data sets in support of a material coverage extension. They will also partner with other data product managers to support our existing data sets and contribute towards the incremental design of a data model that can support the needs of our users and applications both today and tomorrow.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for being the subject matter expert on data set(s) understanding their creation or intake, their data model, and any associated transformations
  • Document the data in a standard manner to ensure all teams can access the information they need
  • Responsible for creating user stories, bugs, and tasks associated with data in support of roadmap initiatives
  • Understand the cross-squad data dependencies, and facilitate alignment and communication across squads to monitor interdependencies, milestones, and status.
  • Establish strong and collaborative relationships with business partners to help identify and understand the role data plays in new product opportunities
  • Work with technology to understand complexity of various solutions and participate in decision making to choose the right technology to solve customer problems
  • Gather appropriate stakeholder input to build, prune, and maintain the data product backlog, consisting mostly of user stories, but also defects, refactors and infrastructure work, prioritized based on user value, time dependencies, risk reduction and effort
  • Identify opportunities to automate tasks, leverage technology and reduce failure points in the product
  • Identify and mitigate risk and ensure controls are in place throughout the data product lifecycle
About you:
  • You deeply enjoy working with data and its quirks. You can engage with data in isolation but also think about it in context. You take ownership of the end to end data ecosystem, and appreciate the lifecycle of your data.
  • You are well versed in understanding the users, both human and non-human, of the data you are supporting, and how to incorporate their various needs into the end to end data ecosystem.
  • You have a strong grasp of agile methodologies and have experience refining your way of working through retrospectives and review of initiative KPIs
  • You are creative and can think outside of current constraints to find innovative solutions
  • You are a collaborator and can build strong relationships to bring others along in your journey
  • You are a passionate team member who is excited by challenges and actively participates in ideation
  • You are curious and know that it's more important to understand the questions to ask than to have all the answers
  • You take ownership of results and track critical metrics and use them to drive decision-making about what's next
