Description
The Innovation & Strategic Implementation Administrator works in the Aviation Department and is responsible for developing, guiding, and advancing airport innovation philosophy to enhance passenger, employee, and business partner airport experience. This role provides highly responsible and complex support. and focuses innovation activities and programs around PSP’s airport innovation verticals: transport, technological connection, sustainability, and efficiency.
Duties include:
Evaluates new technologies and collaborates on opportunities with stakeholders from throughout the aviation innovation ecosystem including airlines, retail partners, startups, corporates, academic entities, and regulatory bodies.
Focus on and develops programs around the areas of electrification, automation and mobility (integration of drone and eVTOL aircraft and electrified/autonomous vehicle uses), sustainable aviation fuels, clean energy and facility power generation, digital transformation for passenger processing (biometrics, artificial intelligence, and digitization), safety, security and continuity of operations, new ventures and strategic partnerships that enhance the traveler experience, and all things related to seamless, frictionless travel for passengers.
Drives creative thinking around technology and operational solutions to process improvements, and promotes employee engagement. Creates partnerships internally and externally for innovation to be most successful.
Administer and oversee all SLAs and MOUs for Aviation Technology, including editing and implementing those between the City and the Airport.
Initiates, oversees, and advises the Aviation Director and Executive staff on business transformation as it relates to innovation projects, whether they be initiated by Airport/City staff or introduced by business partners such as airlines, car rental companies, federal partners, concession providers, or service providers.
Work Schedule: 4/10 schedule; remote work permitted
Requirements
Experience:
Four (4) years of professional-level experience in project management, product development, or innovation; including at least one (1) year of work experience in a fast-paced airline, airport, transportation, supply chain/logistics, or stadium/arena environment is required.
Training:
A bachelor’s degree in Business, Aeronautics, Computer Science, Logistics, Social Science, or related field, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities is required.
Professional career certification in Project Management Professional or training in Six Sigma/Lean is preferred.
Professional career certification in a MS IT, Cisco IT, Linux IT or similar preferred.
